Our customers love Avo
I would never build a custom admin panel in the future.
We wasted too much money and could not focus on our main business.
I do not like DSLs. They always cause troubles in the long run. But this one seems "natural" I didn't even notice.
Avo has let me push further on the features my users benefit from most whilst trusting I am giving volunteer curators a backend experience I can still be proud of.
It's a real multiplier on the project and adopting it was undoubtedly the best technical decision we've made.
Amazing documentation: the documentation for Avo is among the best out there. All features are well documented, and @adrianthedev does a fantastic job keeping the docs up to date with each release including video walkthroughs of major features.
We are heavily used Avo Pro in order to build a new "admin first" platform that can be managed by our non-tech team with ease.
The interface is extremely intuitive and can be extended fast with custom actions.
Easy to set up: only takes a few minutes to generate your config, connect some models, and have a basic admin panel to start iterating on.
Flexible customization: Avo offers many ways to go beyond the basic built in views, forms, and actions to add additional customization to your admin solution.
Great community: Avo has an actively engaged community through GitHub and Discord that's available to answer issues, contribute ideas, and collaborate on new features.
I've spent time looking into solutions that complement a sensible modern stack that gets you to the point of focussing on the product you're building sooner and does not induce conceptual compression along the way.
Avo fits nicely into that stack.
After many years and many systems built with Rails, I've seen the pattern where many of the same parts are built over and over again. I eventually began to wonder: Is there something like a “Ruby on Rails … on Rails”? That's what Avo is to me! It's Rails on Rails! I love being able bring tools and capabilities online for my clients without spending time on the things that are ALWAYS THE SAME. Avo is really well done. The ROI on the Pro license has been immediate, sizable, and continuous. It's a no-brainer.
The Avo team themselves have been so responsive and helpful with any questions, concerns or requests.
Releasing half of your app to a single gem is a daunting prospect, but I have experienced how much the team respects their users and appreciates their responsibility.
The discord community for Avo is also great, the devs are there to help us out should you have any questions.
Avo is a gem (no pun intended) and you should check it out!

I often get the question, "How is Avo different from other starter kits?". And the simple answer is that it provides a different function. Avo helps the developer build their application's business side using configuration rather than regular logic code. When I say business-side, I mean the actual part that provides the unique value to their customers.

I think we did well in 2022 in support and features, and we could work more on our documentation. But, all in all, you mostly believe this product brings you value, and you like being a part of its journey.
